For listeners of all levels: Explore the elements of music with two engaging experts!
Virtuoso pianist Aaron Diehl (Cécile McLorin Salvant accompanist and New York Philharmonic soloist) teams with Tony Award–winning playwright and lyricist Murray Horwitz (Ain’t Misbehavin’) for a series of three excursions into the building blocks of music: rhythm, melody, and harmony. Drawing on their combined expertise—and sharing stories, live piano performance, and more—Diehl and Horwitz offer fresh insights and a feast for the ears.
"It''''s going to be entertaining!" Horwitz says. "Whatever your listening patterns, whatever your tastes, you''''re always listening for harmony, melody, and rhythm. It''''s our hope that these concerts will be attractive to everybody, and everybody will take away something of value from them."
Jan 31: Melody
Mar 8: Harmony
Aaron Diehl also appears this season with his trio on April 7.
