A Ticket Services representative is available in the lobby or box office of every Washington Performing Arts performance if you are in need of a location pass for lost tickets or have questions regarding upcoming performances.

Ticket Policies: Sales, Exchanges, and Donations
Refunds are granted only in the case of performance cancellation.
Washington Performing Arts Friends and subscribers may exchange tickets for another performance in the same season by following the instructions listed below.
All tickets purchased within 12 days of the performance date will be held at the venue box office will call. Patrons are required to show a photo ID at the window.
Washington Performing Arts Friends are exempt from order charges. All other orders incur a service charge of $6 per ticket for individual performances and $10 for subscriptions.
Washington Performing Arts accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, and checks made payable to Washington Performing Arts Society or Washington Performing Arts. Washington Performing Arts discourages mailing cash for ticket purchases or exchanges and is not responsible for cash that is lost or stolen during transit.
Ticket Sales and Availability
Tickets can be purchased online or by calling or visiting the Washington Performing Arts Ticket Services Office. Please see above for details on office hours and contact information.
Tickets are available for purchase through Washington Performing Arts Ticket Services for most performances until 24 hours prior to the performance. On the day of the performance, or on the weekend prior to a Monday performance, all sales must take place through the venue box office. For Ticketmaster venues (Warner Theatre, The Lincoln Theatre, DAR Constitution Hall, and GW Lisner Auditorium), all single ticket purchases must be sold through Ticketmaster. Only Washington Performing Arts Friends and subscribers can purchase these tickets through Washington Performing Arts.
Washington Performing Arts offers Fixed Package Series and Custom Series packages, allowing patrons to tailor subscriptions to their tastes and schedules while saving money on tickets.
Subscribers to Fixed Subscription Series (Orchestras, Stars, Celebrity, Piano Masters, Hayes Piano, What Makes It Great?, or Virtuoso Series) receive priority seating and save up to 20% off single ticket prices, retaining their same seats from season to season. Custom Series subscribers may select a minimum of three (3) performances for a savings up to 10% (for three or more events) or five or more performances for a savings of up to 15%, as well as preferred seating before tickets go on sale to the general public. In addition, all subscribers receive exchange privileges and advance ticket sales notifications. Payment plans are available for a limited time each year, allowing patrons to spread their subscription payments over several months. (Please note: For the 2016/17 season, the deadline for payment-plan orders has already passed.)

Exchanging Your Tickets
Washington Performing Arts Friends and subscribers may exchange tickets for another performance in the same season.
To process an exchange, your tickets (or proof of destroyed tickets; see below*) must be received by Ticket Services no later than 5pm on the day prior to the performance. In the case of a weekend or Monday performance, tickets must be received no later than 5pm on the preceding Thursday.
Washington Performing Arts encourages ticketholders to exchange by sending proof of destroyed tickets (either a simple cell-phone photo or faxed copy of the torn tickets, with performance and seating details clearly visible*), along with correspondence as noted below, to (202) 833-1595. If ticketholders choose to exchange by mail, be sure to allow ample time for mailing. Washington Performing Arts is not responsible for tickets that are not received or that may be received after a performance because of delayed mail. Washington Performing Arts regrets that exchanges cannot take place on the day of a performance.
When tickets are submitted for exchange, the ticketholder should include correspondence indicating the performance they would like to attend and the preferred seating section or price. Seating availability and prices can be obtained by viewing the performance at WashingtonPerformingArts.org or by calling Ticket Services at (202) 785-9727. Availability is not guaranteed, and seats will not be held. Washington Performing Arts personnel will contact the ticketholder upon receipt of the exchange materials.
The price of the original tickets will be applied to the new tickets at the appropriate price level (subscription discounts, for example, will be applied to the new tickets). If the new tickets are more expensive than the original tickets, the ticketholder must pay the difference at the time of the exchange. If the new tickets are less expensive, the difference will be placed on credit in the ticketholder’s account. Credits can be used for future purchases for the same season only and do not carry forward to the following season.
Washington Performing Arts employs “dynamic pricing” for its events, meaning that ticket prices for a given event may (but will not necessarily) fluctuate over time and/or in response to demand. Most commonly, we offer discounts on tickets to those who subscribe to multiple performances before single tickets go on sale. After single tickets go on sale, ticket prices for a given performance may increase in response to audience demand. This approach enables us to present the widest possible spectrum of artists over the course of a season, from well-established performers with a high demand for tickets to emerging artists just establishing their reputations, for whom ticket sales are often more modest.
The best strategy for ensuring the lowest ticket price to our events—and, in the case of reserved seating, better seats at every price level—is to subscribe during our spring and summer subscription-only period. After the end of our subscription-only period, the best strategy is to purchase single tickets as early as possible after they go on sale in late summer/early fall. Conversely, patrons can expect to pay the highest ticket prices for remaining tickets to a popular performance in the weeks and days leading up to the performance.
