Performance Information

“Without question the most astounding pianist of our age” – The Times (London)

Widely hailed as the heir apparent to the Russian piano dynasty forged by the likes of Sergei Rachmaninoff, Vladimir Ashkenazy, and Evgeny Kissin, Daniil Trifonov catapulted onto the classical music scene when he won the prestigious International Chopin Piano Competition, the Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition, and numerous prizes at the International Tchaikovsky Competition in the span of only two years. Since then, the Grammy Award–winner (in 2018, for “Best Instrumental Solo Album”) has become “the don’t-miss-him musician of the moment” with a knack for “finding ways to make the music seem like something entirely new” (Washington Post). His 2020 performance marks his first solo recital in D.C. since 2017. Don’t miss it!

This performance is made possible through the generous support of Dr. Gary Mather and Ms. Christina Co Mather, Philip R. West and Barbara Yellen, and Dr. J. Stephen and Mrs. Kathryn Jones.

His Excellency Anatoly Antonov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation, is the honorary patron of this engagement.
