Performance Information

Two of today’s most celebrated artists unite for a celebration 250 years in the making.

Violin superstar Midori and “master colorist and . . . great communicator” (Seattle Times) Jean-Yves Thibaudet team up for their first Washington Performing Arts appearances in more than a decade to commemorate Beethoven’s 250th birthday year. Anchored by the exhilarating “Kreutzer,” which, in the Washington Post’s words, “[has drawn] more out of Midori than mere virtuosity,” the all-Beethoven recital promises to convey how even mainstays of the canon can reveal fresh nuances and kindle powerful emotions in the hands of two master performers.

This performance is made possible in part through the generous support of the Dallas Morse Coors Foundation for the Performing Arts, Anne and Burton Fishman, and Dr. J. Stephen and Mrs. Kathryn Jones. The Comcast Lounge for this performance is generously sponsored by Glenmede Trust Company.

His Excellency Philippe Etienne, Ambassador of France, and His Excellency Shinsuke J. Sugiyama, Ambassador of Japan, are the honorary patrons of this engagement.
