About the Artists

Frenchie Davis and The Experience Band & Show

Frenchie Davis-singer/songwriter, actress, and social activist- is originally from Los Angeles, California. She studied Theatre and received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Howard University in Washington DC. Her theatrical credits include the Broadway cast of RENT, two tours of Dreamgirls, and The National Tour of Ain't Misbehavin', for which she was nominated for a Grammy. She has also performed in productions of Little Shop Of Horrors and Jesus Christ Superstar and played the Fairy Godmother in a production of Cinderella Enchanted. She made her television debut on the second season of American Idol and was also a finalist on Team Christina during the first season of NBC's The Voice. Other television credits include voice-over work for the Nickelodeon cartoon Wonder Pets, and a guest-starring role on the OWN Network's Wanda Sykes presents: HERlarious.

The Experience Band & Show was founded in the fall of 2017. The TromboneKing created and leads this feel-good funk, pop, r&b, jazz, go-go, and sometimes rock infused band. The Experience Band & Show has become the group without a genre or traditional standards of music. They began performing on the streets of DC, at the Metro Stations (Gallery Place, Farragut, L’efant Plaza, Dupont Circle, etc.) otherwise known as busking. They soon found themselves on the forefront of the #DontMuteDc fight. As a band that began on the streets, they were often confronted with issues of changing neighborhoods and non-direct ways to stop their free outdoor performances. In January 2018 the band won an Instagram contest to open for Lalah Hathaway at the Warner Theater in D.C. Ever since, the group has been gigging and performing professionally in venues, clubs, and theaters throughout Washington D.C..
