PLATFORMS FOR VIEWING HOME DELIVERY PLUS

Washington Performing Arts website (browser-based video player)
Our website provides the richest Home Delivery Plus viewing experience, a sidebar within the video player for chat with other patrons (during the streaming premiere) and performance resources. To view a Home Delivery Plus event that you’ve purchased, login to your “My Events” page (also accessible from the navigation bar at the top of any page on our website) and click the red “Click to View” button when access to the event begins. For a more detailed walk-through of this browser-based viewing option, see our step-by-step “How to Watch” PDF primer.

HOW TO WATCH (PDF) “MY EVENTS” LOGIN

iOS App (for Apple iPad and Apple TV)
Our streaming partner, OurConcerts.live (OCL), offers a native App for iPad and Apple TV devices. Visit OCL’s Washington Performing Arts page for step-by-step instructions on accessing your Home Delivery Plus event(s) through their App. When creating a separate account with OCL, you must use the same email address that is associated with your Washington Performing Arts account. Once youve logged in to OCL with this email address, you will automatically gain access to your Home Delivery Plus event(s).

Please note:

  • When using the App on either the iPad or Apple TV, you will see the main video player alone—without the “chat” function and other resources. For these additional features, please use the browser-based viewing option described in the previous section.
  • If you had already installed the OCL App on your iPad or Apple TV device prior to February 21, 2021, you may need to download an App update—check for pending updates in the App Store on your device.

Mirroring WPA’s website to your smart TV
This allows you to use the browser-based viewing option, but enjoy the event on a larger screen—your TV (depending on the compatibility of your devices). You can “mirror” the audio and video from our website on your desktop computer or handheld device onto your smart television or smart device–connected television. This has many names depending on the devices you’re using, including “Screen Mirroring,” “Screen Casting,” “Screensharing,” and more. Here are links to basic mirroring instructions for the major desktop and handheld devices:

ADVICE FOR YOUR FIRST EVENT
The first time you watch Home Delivery Plus, we recommend you allow 5-10 minutes for login in advance of your desired viewing time—especially if you need to recover your Washington Performing Arts account password. If you already know your login, you should be able to access an event in a matter of moments.

TIPS FOR WATCHING THE STREAMING PREMIERE
Although all Home Delivery Plus “packages” (events) are pre-recorded, we offer a “live” premiere experience for each package—always at 8:00PM ET on the first date of a package’s streaming period. There are two fun and informative advantages to watching the premiere in real time, both only available in the browser-based viewing option described above:

  • “The Lobby”: Beginning at 7:30PM ET on a premiere night, we offer a virtual “Lobby” where you can chat with fellow patrons (and, often, special guests), get updates on Home Delivery Plus upcoming attractions, and more. Access “The Lobby” via your “My Events” page.
  • Live chat throughout the event: The live chat begun in “The Lobby” continues throughout the performance. Interact with fellow viewers, WPA staff, and special guests in real time—and watch the chat sidebar for news, trivia, links of interest, and more. (If you miss the premiere, you can still read the archived transcript of the chat—and add your own thoughts at the end.)

To sign into the chat:

  • Log into your event via your “My Events” page using the process described above under “Washington Performing Arts website”
  • Once the video player is open, see the sidebar at the right. “Chat” should be pre-selected; if not, select the icon at top left (looks like cartoon “speech” bubbles)
  • See “Please sign in” options below. From left to right, you will see icons for Chatroll, Facebook, Twitter, and “Guest” (see next bullet). Click your choice of these options and follow the prompts to login or sign up for a new account. (Note: For existing accounts, your name and profile picture will appear with any chat comments you make.) No account is required to sign in as a “Guest.”
  • For “Guest” sign-in: Clicking the “Guest” button will auto-generate a screen ID (e.g. “Guest1234”). If you prefer to customize your screen ID, simply type over the auto-generated ID. Then click “Sign in.” (Note: No profile picture will appear if you are signed in as a "Guest.")
  • You are now set to chat! Key in a comment in the chat box at bottom and press “Enter” on your keyboard/touchscreen. Your comment will appear in the chat thread.

ADDING AN EVENT TO YOUR CALENDAR
You may want to add your purchased Home Delivery Plus events to your personal online calendar. You can do this quickly using the “Add to Calendar” feature, now available in your account. To use this feature:

  1. Visit your “My Events” page. (Note: You will be asked to log into your WPA account.)
  2. At the right of each event listing, you will see an “Add to Calendar” link (click here for a diagram). Click that link to download a calendar file (the file name will be “calendar-event.ics”).
  3. Import that file to your calendar of your choice, and you will see the premiere date/time of the event added to your schedule. (Note: some devices, such as iPhones or tablets, may advance you through this step automatically.)

Need help on importing the calendar file? Here are instruction links for some widely used calendars, from their official support sites:

Note: If you use a different calendar, we suggest visiting its official website for event-importing instructions.
