Volunteer with Washington Performing Arts
For more than six decades, Washington Performing Arts has championed the arts as a unifying force, bringing world-class performances, arts education, gospel music training, and community outreach programs to the nation’s capital. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our volunteers.
Whether you want to take on a leadership role or give just a few hours, your time and talent amplify our impact: welcoming audiences, supporting artists, bringing arts and music to the schools, and helping us build a vibrant cultural life for the region.
Why Volunteer?
Volunteering is one of the most rewarding ways to give back — both for the community and for yourself.
Studies show that:
- 96% of volunteers report that the experience enriches their sense of purpose.
- Two-thirds of volunteers say volunteering helps them feel more connected to their community.
- Nearly 80% of volunteers say they develop new skills they can use in their careers.
At Washington Performing Arts, your service does more than fill a need — it directly supports the arts, education, and cultural experiences you love. Every time you volunteer, you’re ensuring that our city has access to transformative arts experiences that unite and inspire.
When you volunteer with us, you:
- Contribute meaningfully to your community.
- See the direct results of your efforts in performances, arts education, and community celebrations.
- Stay connected to the arts you care about while helping them thrive for future generations.
Volunteering is not just helping out — it’s joining the mission to keep the arts alive, accessible, and vibrant in Washington, D.C.
