Music Center at Strathmore is a concert hall and education center that opened in February 2005. Washington Performing Arts is a resident artistic partner at the venue, offering a variety of musical events. Strathmore’s space is famous for its excellent, “pitch-perfect” acoustics, enabled by technology that allows the acoustics in the hall to be adjusted to fit the needs of various performances. Its maple floors, white birch walls, and bronze metal grillage combine form and function, contributing to the hall’s warm, inviting ambiance.

When you enter the Music Center and have your ticket scanned, you will pass through a walk-through magnetometer—similar to those found at other major venues. These devices are designed to provide additional security without slowing down the entry process. Unlike airport screening, you do not need to remove your shoes, empty your pockets, or remove your belt. Simply walk through the magnetometer. If the device alerts, a staff member will conduct a brief secondary screening with a handheld wand.
Agreeing to security screening is required for entry to Strathmore. We appreciate your cooperation. Staff may deny entry to anyone who declines screening. For more information, click here.
