Washington has always had a sound of its own. This season, Washington Performing Arts and Songbyrd Music House continue their recurring Mars Arts D.C. partnership with a free monthly concert series celebrating the artists, sounds, and creative energy that make D.C. music unique. As the city celebrates 50 years of Go-Go, we honor the musical traditions that shaped Washington while making space for the artists and sounds defining what’s next—from Go-Go and jazz to gospel, Latin music, soul, and global sounds. Songbyrd gives our patrons a different way to experience Washington Performing Arts: an intimate music venue, a more relaxed atmosphere, and the energy of a night out in the city.
