Mars Arts D.C. is Washington Performing Arts’s platform for local artist curation, creative partnerships, special productions, and arts activation throughout Washington, D.C.

We work with BIDs, neighborhoods, venues, cultural organizations, civic partners, businesses, libraries, festivals, transit spaces, and community organizations to connect exceptional D.C. artists with new audiences.

Mars Arts D.C. works across Washington to bring artists and audiences together in the places where people live, work, gather, celebrate, and connect. Our team curates performances and participatory events with solo artists and ensemble musicians, tailoring experiences to the unique spaces and places in the DMV region.

Bringing the Arts into DMV Neighborhoods

We partner with Business Improvement Districts, neighborhood organizations, and community partners to activate public spaces with local artists. From parks and plazas to streets, markets, festivals, and neighborhood gathering places, we create programming that reflects the character of each community. Programming can range from a single performance to a seasonal series or year-round neighborhood activation.

We work with venues to develop programming that responds to their audiences, identity, and environment. A partnership might be a single performance, a monthly series, or an entire season. We curate not only the artists, but the experience around them.

Senior Communities

Bringing Live Arts to Where People Live

Everyone should have access to meaningful live arts experiences—including people who may not be able to attend a traditional theater or concert hall. Mars Arts D.C. brings artists directly into senior homes, residential communities, and other settings where people gather and live. These experiences can include intimate performances, participatory music and dance, cultural demonstrations, artist conversations, and intergenerational activities. Programming is shaped around each community, creating opportunities for connection, discovery, joy, and shared experiences.
