The city’s our stage! One of D.C.’s most scenic green spaces, Tregaron Conservancy, welcomes you for an afternoon jazz performances by Mars Arts D.C. artists. In the Meadow, the magic of live performances and the tranquility of nature come together for an unforgettable experience of sensory delights. Tregaron performances are free and great for all ages.

About the Artists

Todd Marcus

Todd Marcus is a jazz musician, composer, and bandleader renowned for his pioneering work on the bass clarinet in modern jazz. A DownBeat Rising Star since 2013, he leads both small and large ensembles, blending fiery intensity with introspective lyricism. His compositions draw from jazz masters, Middle Eastern influences, and his community activism. Albums like Blues for Tahrir and On These Streets reflect his social consciousness. Marcus has performed internationally at Jazz at Lincoln Center, SFJazz, and the Cairo Jazz Festival and collaborates with top jazz artists. He also offers workshops on jazz composition, improvisation, and community engagement.

Imani-Grace Cooper

Imani-Grace is a multidisciplinary vocalist who has shared stages with the likes of George Duke, Esperanza Spalding, Geri Allen, Terri Lynn Carrington, Lil John Roberts, Christian McBride, and Warren Wolf. She has headlined The Kennedy Center, Apollo Theatre, and Lincoln Center. She is a regular guest artist of the National Symphony Orchestra and is the lead singer for Theodicy Jazz Collective, a liturgical ensemble embarking on a tour of Europe in 2025.

Imani-Grace has curated numerous events in the D.C. area, including a 3-year jazz series. She endorses holism for marginalized communities through art and entertainment as the mission of her advocacy group, Pyramid Projects. She has presented masterclasses at The Ohio State University, her alma mater Howard University, Georgetown University, Duke Ellington School of the Arts, and abroad in Cuba and Switzerland.
