60th Anniversary Gala
Heartfelt Gratitude for our Supportive Community
Our 2026 Jubilation! Gala was a night to remember.
From the brilliance of our emcee and performer Ari Shapiro with pianist Henry Koperski to the extraordinary artistry of Children of the Gospel Choir (COTG) alumna Tamia Johnson, Mars Arts D.C. Artists DJ Les and 24K Band, and our beloved COTG—under the direction of Michele Fowlin and Anthony “Tony” Walker—the evening was filled with joy and inspiration.
Heartfelt reflections from board member Burt Fishman, teaching artist Lucy Bowen, and Honorary Chair Elisabeth Hayes brought depth and resonance, reminding us why our work matters.
Together, it was a powerful testament to the ability of art to unite, uplift, and inspire: “Everybody in, nobody out!”
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we raised over $680,000 to support our artistic, gospel music, education, and community engagement programs.
As we look ahead to the next 60 years, we invite your sustained support. Help Washington Performing Arts continue to amplify voices, open doors, and champion the arts as a force for good in our community. Your generosity makes all the difference, and we are deeply grateful.

Thank You
On behalf of the entire staff of Washington Performing Arts, we extend our gratitude to our 60th Anniversary year sponsors, gala leadership, generous sponsors, embassy partners, Board, Junior Board, the Women’s Committee, and all our attendees for your friendship and unwavering support.
