This event is part of the Mars Arts D.C. Concert Series at Songbyrd—a free, four-part concert series offering a monthly musical oasis to D.C.-music lovers of all kinds. Ranging from March to June of 2023, the Mars Arts D.C. Concert Series at Songbyrd features local artists performing a wide array of genres. Acts include Helen Hayes Award-winning vocalist Nova Y. Payton, folk band Justin Trawick and the Common Good, electronic fusion group The Inner Temples ft. DJ Adrian Loving, and the jazz infused go-go band The JoGo Project.

About the Artist

Nova Y. Payton

Nova Y. Payton is a Helen Hayes Award-winning actor and singer who has appeared on local stages, including Signature Theater, Arena Stage, and the Kennedy Center. She has starred in PBS’s 3 Mo’ Divas, We Are Family: Songs of Hope and Unity and the to-be-aired special Black Broadway: A Proud History, A Limitless Future. Nova has also performed in major US cities, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and Europe.
