Children of the Gospel Choir – COTG
Who We Are
Vision Statement
The Washington Performing Arts Children of the Gospel Choir (COTG) strives to be the premier youth ensemble in the greater Washington, D.C., area, celebrating and mastering the American art form of gospel music, while inspiring audiences through dynamic performances of traditional, contemporary, choral, and inspirational musical styles. We envision a future where our young voices serve as ambassadors of hope, faith, artistic excellence, and leadership, bridging communities and generations through the transformative power of gospel music.
“A truly dynamic experience! These young people have it.”
– June 2025 concert attendee
“It’s not just the music, it’s the storytelling, and seeing the young people grow as artists, leaders, and a community of critical thinkers, and having some fun while doing so.”
– David Powell, Washington Performing Arts Director of Gospel Music Programs
